We were fortunate to have many excellent teachers at Clover Park High School. Each of us has 2 or 3 or more who we can remember as our favorites or has someone who made a special impact our life. If we were able to see a list of all of our classmates showing those teachers, my guess is that Jerry Storvick would be mentioned often and maybe most often.
Jerry was not only a good Social Studies and Contemporary Affairs teacher, but he also made every class day fun and interesting. And he had a way about him of making every person he spoke with feel that they were a special person. And, Jerry did feel that we each had something special to offer. Each of us who had Jerry as a teacher, or simply knew him, has a fondly remembered incident or experience to recount.
If you have something to share that you remember about Jerry, please take the time to send it to Gail Kieffer or Rich Longstreth.
Here is the Obituary that appeared in the Tacoma and Olympia newspapers.

Jerry Storvick, 88, was born in Albert Lea, MN on 12-31-1929. He died on 03-03-2018 in Lacey, WA. Jerry attended high school in Albert Lea, MN, and then spent four years in the U.S. Navy. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and the University of Wyoming with a Master of Education in Educational Guidance. He worked as a teacher, a high school counselor, and a public services coordinator from 1957-1990. He held local, state, regional, and national offices in counseling services to high school students. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Lynn Storvick, and family in Columbia, MO. He appreciated family, neighbors, friends, students, their families, and the staff with whom he worked. He wished everyone could receive as much personal satisfaction and gratification from their choice of life work as he did. "Always look for the good in others. It is there," he was known to say. No local services are planned. Interment will take place at Round Prairie Lutheran Church in Glenville, MN.

I retired in March of 2006. One daughter lives in Tacoma, with her 18 year old and her 6 year old, and the other daughter lives in Florida, with her 19 year old. The Florida daughter's oldest child, my 21 year old granddaughter, is a student at WWU in Bellingham. I am very active in Kitsap County politics and in my church, and love being retired. I travel a little outside the country, and a lot to Florida. |

Our first grandchild, Delano (our new deal), was born Feb. 24th to our youngest son Zane and his wife Marissa. Older son, Eben, is about to get his MFA at UCLA (anyone want to buy a painting?). Kim and I are having a great time learning Italian and retirement is close at hand. Obama is taking our advice and getting a Portuguese Water Dog but he'll be lucky to get one as fine as old Sal(pictured). Well we waited 50 years for this party so it better be good.![]() |

Margie and I live in Mesa, AZ during the winter and Summit Lake (Thurston County) in the summer. We have 6 children between us, and numerous grands and greats. I was a WSP Trooper for 10 years and retired from Boeing Security after 27 years as a security manager. Margie retired from her union job after 30 years. We have been married for 10 years. We have a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and have travelled all over the U.S. We really enjoy the freedom we have when we are on the bike. |

Comment: Every reunion I say a prayer that Charlie is around to organize this event. We live in West Seattle above Alki Beach but just finished a small home on Hood Canal. I have attached a photo of my family but held back on the grand kids (4). I hope to dance the night away. |

Comment: Hello old friends. My wife, Cherry and I moved to Gig Harbor, WA eleven years ago after seventeen in Monterey, CA. We have four kids, eleven grandkids and two Shih tzu puppies. I'm mostly retired but do travel to Russia and the former Soviet Union countries a couple of times each year to help kids over there. Looking forward to saying hello to many of you at our 55th reunion on August 10th. |
